Not Forsaken

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Have you ever felt rejected and abandoned by family, friends & well-wishers?
Have you ever felt betrayed by a trusted friend?

May be there are pains of the past, pains and injuries done us by people whom we believe ought to be comforts and confidants, I mean people we loved & cherished?
But along the way, all of them have disappeared into the tin air, leaving us to our loneliness and despair.
May be in the past you have shown much love, but all what you get in return is nothing but betrayal and disappointment, and right now those people don’t want you any longer by their side, you are now an old dreaded enemy.

Yes, all these things are bound to come, but the bible lets us to know that we are not alone, God is always there for us, even in the worst of time.

We are not left alone to ourselves, God knows that we cannot bear it, that is why when Jesus was leaving this earth to return back to his father, he promised to give us the Holy Spirit, also known as the Comforter, Jesus in John 14: 16 said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever”.
That is, a comforter who will assure us of God’s constant love and presence with his people (even when they think He is far away from them)

This promise alone should strengthen and encourage the heart of every believer, for this is our hope and confidence in the time of trouble.
God has not forsaken us, even when people do not understand you, God understands.
Though we be troubled and persecuted on all sides, yet we are much more loved of God and accepted in his eternal love.
One of the lies that the enemy has used in getting people off from their faith and trust in God, is the lie that God has abandoned you, or that God loves this person more than you, if not, why is it he is successful and you are a failure.
God’s love is no comparison, God loves you as He loves Jesus.
This may seem very hard to believe, but the truth is that just the same way God loves Jesus, that is how he loves you.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

I want you take a minute and carefully mediate on this verse, if God did not spare Jesus, but gave him up for us all (including you), what is it that he will not be willing to do for you?
Don’t allow the devil to make you believe that everyone hates you (even God), even when you are hated and forsaken, God loves and accepts you.

He loves you just as you are, not because of what you are (we all are miserable and undeserving sinners, but love sought us out)

Therefore stop believing the lies of the devil, fill your heart with God’s precious promises from His infallible word, and great will be your rejoicing.

Something To Ponder

Promises, though they be for a time seemingly delayed, cannot be finally frustrated.... the heart of God is not turned though His face be hid; and prayers are not flung back, though they be not instantly answered. —Timothy Cruso

And therefore you who think so basely of the Gospel and the professors of it, because at present their peace and comfort are not come, should know that it is on the way to them, and comes to stay everlastingly with them; whereas your peace is going is going from you every moment, and is sure to leave you without any hope of returning to you again. Look not how the Christian begins, but ends. —William Gurnall

The purpose of Christianity is not to avoid difficulty, but to produce a character adequate to meet it when it comes. It does not make life easy; rather it tries to make us great enough for life. -- James L. Christensen

Our life is full of brokenness - broken relationships, broken promises, broken expectations. How can we live with that brokenness without becoming bitter and resentful except by returning again and again to God's faithful presence in our lives. -- Henri Nouwen from Some Quotable Christian Quotes

No cloud can overshadow a true Christian but his faith will discern a rainbow in it. -- Bishop Horne

When you run into someone who is disagreeable to others, you may be sure he is uncomfortable with himself; the amount of pain we inflict upon others is directly proportional to the amount we feel within us. - Sydney J. Harris

I believe in the sun even when it is not shining. I believe in love even when I am not feeling it. I believe in God even when He is silent. - Anonymous Jewish holocaust victim
